Iranian authorities executed a Kurdish political prisoner in Sanandaj

Hengaw: An Iranian Kurdish political inmate was executed on Wednesday, August 2, by the Iranian authorities in Sanandaj city of Kurdistan province, northwest Iran.   According to Hengaw, a human rights agency, Mortaza Rahmani, a Kurdish citizen from Kamyaran city of Kurdistan province, was executed on Wednesday after he was transferred to a solitary confinement two days ago.   The Kurdish citizen was sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of membership with an Iranian Kurdish opposition party. He was also charged with killing two members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).   According to the statistics recorded by Hengaw, 48 Iranian Kurdish prisoners have been executed since the beginning of this year.
