So'da Khadirzadeh, a Kurdish political prisoner who is currently imprisoned in the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison, was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison by branch 3 of Criminal Court No. 1 located in Mahabad.

According to the report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, the verdict was delivered to the family of this political prisoner yesterday, Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

The online trial of So'da Khadirzadeh, a Kurdish political prisoner from Piranshahr who committed suicide in the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison not long ago after a forced confession, was held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Hengaw had previously reported that So'da Khadirzadeh was tried by branch 3 of the Criminal Court 1 located in Mahabad headed by Gholam Karimkhani on charges of "assisting in the murder of Kheder Pirutinia a staff of the Urmia Intelligence Office" and "help the accused to escape (her husband)". Also, in the coming days, the court hearing of Mrs.

Khadirzadeh will be held in another case on the charge of "membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran" by the Mahabad Revolutionary Court.

It is worth mentioning that So'da Khadirzadeh denied the accusations in the court and previously mentioned herself as a hostage in an audio file published by Hengaw.

Kheder Pirutinia, a staff of the Urmia Intelligence Office, was killed in the center of Piranshahr on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Hengaw has been informed that Morad Pirutinia, the son of the victim who was present in the online court, announced that "if the court accepts So'da Khadirzadeh's case for temporary release, he will kill So'da" while threatening So'da Khadirzadeh's lawyer, Ebrahim Azizi. After the hearing, the lawyer of Mrs. Khadirzadeh refused from continuing to represent his client in court.

The husband of So'da Khadirzadeh, who was introduced as the main suspect in the murder of Kheder Pirutinia in the court session, left Iran a few days after the death of the member of the Intelligence Office. So'da Khadirzadeh, who was pregnant at that time, was arrested 10 days after this murder, on Thursday, October 14, 2022, after the intelligence agency raided her brother-in-law's house, and she was transferred to the women's ward of Urmia Central Prison after 25 days of interrogation and mental torture in the Urmia Intelligence Agency detention center.

So'da Khadirzadeh spent almost the entire pregnancy and postpartum period in prison without proper food and minimum health facilities, and even she was returned to the women's ward of Urmia prison only 10 hours after the cesarean session, in a way that none of her family members were with her during the delivery.

It should be mentioned that So'da Khadirzadeh went on a hunger strike for 11 days when she was 7 months pregnant, as a sign of protest against her indecision case in prison.

So'da Khadirzadeh is a political prisoner who hanged herself at dawn on Thursday, August 18, 2022, two days after taking a forced confession in front of the camera in the women's ward of Urmia central prison, and also administered pills to her two-month-old child.
