Death sentence of prisoner carried out in Ardabil Central Prison

The death sentence of a prisoner named Shahrouz Alimorad, who had been previously convicted of “premeditated murder” by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was carried out in Ardabil Central Prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Alimorad, 46 years old and a father of two, had been arrested three years ago on charges of premeditated murder and was subsequently sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, the execution has not been publicized by state-run media or sources close to the judiciary.
