Two prisoners hanged in Tabriz Central Prison

The death sentences of two Turkish prisoners, Ghorban Razi and Mohammad Kasraei, who had previously been convicted of "premeditated murder" and drug-related charges, were carried out in Tabriz Central Prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, December 15, 2024, 29-year-old Ghorban Razi, a resident of Tabriz, convicted of "premeditated murder," and 38-year-old Mohammad Kasraei, a resident of Ahar, convicted on drug-related charges, were hanged in Tabriz Central Prison.

Ghorban Razi had been arrested four years ago on charge of murder during a street altercation. He had been on the run for eight months prior to his arrest, after which he surrendered himself to authorities.

Mohammad Kasraei had been previously arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the judiciary of Iran.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
