Mohammad Amin Mahdavi Shayesteh, a political prisoner sentenced to death who has spent over a year in security detention and Evin Prison in Tehran, was recently transferred to solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj. He has been denied all contact with his family and lawyers, raising serious concerns about the imminent execution of his death sentence.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammad Amin Mahdavi Shayesteh, a 26-year-old political prisoner sentenced to death, was recently transferred from Evin Prison to Ghezel Hesar Prison. Despite repeated attempts by his family to determine the reason for this transfer, authorities have refrained from providing any clear response, intensifying fears about the execution of his sentence.
It is worth noting that this individual was subjected to physical and psychological torture, as well as threats and pressure by security forces, forcing him to make a coerced confession against himself. His death sentence has not yet been finalized and remains under appeal at the Supreme Court.
Recently, Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, sentenced Mohammad Amin Mahdavi Shayesteh to death on the charge of “collaboration with Israel” and to five years of imprisonment on the charge of “insulting Islamic sanctities.”

During his detention, this political prisoner has been deprived of his fundamental rights, including access to a his appointed lawyer and other essential civil rights.
