Death sentence of three prisoners carried out in Qazvin Central Prison

The death sentences of three prisoners, including two Turkish individuals, Hamed Jafari, Ali Maroufkhani, and one Tat individual, Jamshid Taherkhani, were carried out in Qazvin Central Prison. The prisoners were previously convicted by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges related to “drug offenses” and “premeditated murder.”
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Jamshid Taherkhani, a prisoner from Takestan, was hanged on the morning of Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Qazvin Central Prison.
He was arrested four years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to death.
On October 10, 2024, two Turkish men, 29-year-old Ali Maroufkhani from Qazvin and 29-year-old Hamed Jafari from Tabriz, were executed in Qazvin Central Prison.
Despite a suspension order issued by Branch 41 of the Supreme Court in response to their request for a retrial, Hamed Jafari and Ali Maroufkhani were executed.
Both prisoners were arrested three years ago in connection with a shared drug-related case and sentenced to death.
As of the time of this report, state-affiliated media, including outlets linked to the judiciary, have not publicized the executions of these three prisoners.
