Prisoner hanged in Shiraz Central Prison

The death sentence of a prisoner identified as Peyman Zarei, 27, from Gonabad in Razavi Khorasan Province was carried out in Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad Prison). He had previously been convicted of “premeditated murder.”
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, The execution took place in the early hours of Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Informed sources reported that Zarei was arrested four years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As of the time of this report, news of Zarei’s execution has not been announced in state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
