Prisoner hanged in Miandoab Central Prison

The death sentence of a Turkish prisoner, Sina Shamsollahi, a resident of Shariflu village, a district of Lilan in East Azerbaijan Province was carried out in Miandoab Central Prison. He had been previously convicted of "premeditated murder."

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in Miandoab Central Prison.

A source close to the prisoner's family stated that Sina Shamsollahi had been arrested a year ago on charges of premeditated murder of an individual named Mehrdad Abbasi and was sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
