Count of recent executions at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz reaches four

The death sentences of two prisoners, Sajad Arzandeh and Mohammadreza Hosseinzadeh, who had previously been convicted on drug-related charges by the Islamic Republic of Iran judiciary, were carried out at Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad Prison). With these two cases, the number of executions in this prison has risen to four.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions of Sajad Arzandeh, 48, and Mohammadreza Hosseinzadeh, 44, were carried out early Sunday morning, January 5, 2025, at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

Sajad Arzandeh and Mohammadreza Hosseinzadeh were arrested three years ago in connection with a joint case involving drug-related charges and were sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Previously, the execution of Khalil Alizahi (Sargolzehi), 45, a Baluch individual from Zahedan, and Amir Mohammad Farahani from Arak, also convicted of drug-related charges, had been reported at this prison.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these four prisoners has not been announced by state-affiliated media, particularly those connected to the judiciary.
