Fakhreddin Ebrahimi, the 17-year-old son of Mohieddin Ebrahimi, an executed Kurdish political prisoner from Oshnaviyeh, has been sentenced to one year of discretionary imprisonment and two years of suspended imprisonment by the Iranian Judiciary.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Fakhreddin Ebrahimi, 17 years old and from Oshnaviyeh, was sentenced to one year of discretionary imprisonment and two years of suspended imprisonment by Branch 113 of the Criminal Court 2 of Beheshti in Urmia on the charge of "destroying the guard glass of the Court of Appeal" citing Article 687 of the Islamic Penal Code.
 

Fakhreddin Ebrahimi was arrested on Monday, April 24, 2023, after referring to the investigation department of Urmia’s General and Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, and on Tuesday,  April 15, 2023, he was temporarily released after posting a bail of 100 million tomans (2000 USD).
 

He was arrested earlier on March 16, 2023, and was released the next day, hours after the execution of his father, Muhyaddin Ebrahimi.
 

Muhyaddin Ebrahimi, Fakhrredin’s father, who was previously sentenced to death for being a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, was executed at dawn on Friday, March 17, 2023, in Urmia Central Prison. He was 43 years old and was serving his fifth year in prison at the time of execution.
