The death sentence of Mehdi Baboli Bahmai, a prisoner from Behbahan previously sentenced to death for murder, was carried out at Sheyban Prison in Ahvaz.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at dawn, the death sentence of Mehdi Baboli Bahmai, a Bakhtiari citizen from Behbahan city, Khuzestan province, was carried out at Sheyban Prison in Ahvaz.
This prisoner was previously arrested on the charge of "intentional murder" and was sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
So far, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in the government media, particularly in the media close to the judiciary.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, In July 2023, at least 61 prisoners were executed in prisons across Iran.
