The death sentences of Baqer Mohammadi, a prisoner from Kohdasht, Lorestan province, and an Afghan citizen named Nazir Mohammad, were carried out in Qezelhesar prison. Since March 2023, at least 24 citizens from Kohdasht and 23 Afghan citizens have been executed in Iran.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday,
November 15, 2023, the death sentence of Baqer Mohammadi, a prisoner from Kohdasht, was carried out in Qezelhesar prison.
According to informed sources, this prisoner was arrested about 10 years ago in a joint case with five other defendants for drug-related charges, and so far, the death sentences of four of these prisoners have been carried out.
At the same time, the death sentence of Nazir Mohammad, a citizen from Afghanistan, was carried out in Qezelhesar prison in Karaj. He was previously arrested on charges of premeditated murder and then sentenced to death.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw, since March 2023, at least 24 citizens from Kohdasht city and 23 Afghan citizens have been executed in the Iranian prisons.
So far, the news of the execution of these prisoners has not been announced in the Iranian state media, especially in the media close to the judiciary.
