Negar Karimian, a 21-year-old young woman from Borujen, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province and a resident of Isfahan, was seriously injured by direct fire from the Iranian government forces and died hours later due to the severity of the injuries.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at around 1:00 am, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, the Iranian police forces opened fire on a civilian vehicle and killed one of its passengers at the intersection in Chaman Sultan City in Aligudarz district of Lorestan province, and as a result 21-year-old Negar Karimian, was killed.
According to a source close to the Karimian family, this family was returning to Isfahan from the funeral of their uncle in the village of Farsesh Aligudarz, when the police forces shot at her father’s car (Peugeot 405) without any prior warnings. After firing directly, the bullet hit the driver's side door and then hit Nagar’s side and exited from the other side of her body. Nagar Karimian's father also suffered a minor injury in this attack.
This source further added that Negar Karimian was taken to the “Imam Sadegh” Hospital in Aligudarz and died three hours later due to the severity of her injuries and internal bleeding. Another relative of this family told Hengaw: "The internal organs of the Abdominar were completely damaged in such a way that, according to the doctors, it was not possible to donate her body organs to other patients in need."
Hengaw has been informed that, after the murder of Nagar Karimian, the Iranian police informed her family that they shot at their car by mistake.
It is worth mentioning that the funeral ceremony of Negar Karimian was held on Monday, March 11, at Bagh Rezvan cemetery in Isfahan.
Earlier, on the evening of Friday, January 19, 2024, the Iranian security forces shot at a car and killed a 20-year-old female student from Kohdasht, named Anahita Amirpour, in Borujard city in Lorestan province.
