Iranian Judiciary Imposed Inhumane Sentence of 74 Lashes and Two Years of Imprisonment for a Kurdish Child Kolbar

Daniyal Mam Ahmed, a 17-year-old child from Marivan, has been sentenced to two years in prison and 74 lashes by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Daniyal Mam Ahmed, a 17-year-old Kurdish minor from Marivan, Sanandaj province, was sentenced to two years in prison, 74 lashes, and a fine by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in this city. 

The exact charges against this Kolbar, a term referring to individuals who transport goods across borders, are not yet available.

Daniyal Mam Ahmed was arrested by Iranian government forces on Saturday, March 23, while working at the border of “Qalqaleh.” He is currently incarcerated in the central prison of Marivan.
