Summoning and Detention of a Student Activist in Isfahan

Fahimeh Soltani, a student activist from Isfahan, was detained for the second time after being summoned to the intelligence department of the Revolutionary Guards in the city. She was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location. Soltani, who had previously been arrested during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, had been temporarily suspended from continuing her studies.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Saturday, April 6, 2024, Fahimeh Soltani, a law student at Isfahan University, was detained and taken to an undisclosed location after being summoned by the Intelligence Department of the Revolutionary Guards in Isfahan.

Sources close to Soltani's family reported that she missed a scheduled meeting with Isfahan University authorities to discuss her case revision on Thursday, April 4, 2024, as she had been summoned during non-business hours. Subsequently, she was summoned and detained by the intelligence department of the Revolutionary Guards in Isfahan.

Despite efforts by Fahimeh Soltani's family, there is still no information available regarding the reasons for her detention or her current whereabouts.

Earlier, on Monday, November 13, 2022, Fahimeh Soltani was detained by security forces during the Woman, Life, Freedom Movement in the Chaharbagh Abbasi neighborhood of Isfahan and was transferred to an unknown location. Additionally, she was temporarily suspended from studying for two and a half semesters by the disciplinary committee of Isfahan University last year.
