Mahsa Shafiee, sister of slain protester Nima Shafiee, violently arrested in Yasuj

Mahsa Shafiee, a 24-year-old woman from Yasuj and sister of slain protester Nima Shafiee, was violently arrested by Iranian IRGC Intelligence forces.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrest took place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, during a raid on her parents’ home in Yasuj. Sources reported that the arresting forces physically assaulted her during the operation.

Nima Shafiee, also known as Parsa, was born on September 9, 2004, and was killed by Iranian security forces in Yasuj during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising in 2022.

No official information has been released regarding the reasons for Mahsa Shafiee’s arrest or any charges brought against her.
