Fahimeh Soltani, a student activist from Isfahan, has been arrested to begin serving a one-year prison sentence and transferred to Dolatabad Prison in Isfahan.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Fahimeh Soltani—a law student at the University of Isfahan—was detained on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, by security forces and taken to Dolatabad Prison to carry out her sentence.

Her conviction had previously been upheld by the Court of Appeals and confirmed by Iran’s Supreme Court, making the sentence final and legally binding.

Soltani was originally sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan, presided over by Judge Mohammad Tavakoli, to one year of imprisonment and two years of suspended imprisonment on the charge of “inciting war and bloodshed.”

She had been released from Dastgerd Prison on May 1, 2024, after posting bail. Her earlier arrest had taken place on April 6, 2024, following a summons by the Intelligence Unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Isfahan.

Notably, Soltani had also been arrested on November 13, 2022, during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement. Security forces detained her in Chaharbagh Abbasi, Isfahan, and transferred her to an undisclosed location. In a separate incident in June 2023, the University of Isfahan’s disciplinary committee suspended her from academic studies for two and a half semesters.
