Student from Tabriz, Arrested Again by Iranian Authorities

Ehsan Faridi, a student from Tabriz, was arrested and taken to an undisclosed location after being summoned to the prosecutor's office. Faridi had previously been arrested last year and was subsequently released on bail.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Ehsan Faridi, a student at Tabriz Technical University, was arrested under the directive of an investigator from Branch 15 of the City Prosecutor's Office.

It remains unclear whether Faridi's recent arrest is connected to his previous case or if it is based on new accusations and unrelated reasons.

Faridi was initially arrested by Iranian government forces in Tabriz on Friday, March 8, 2024. After spending one month in custody, he was temporarily released on bail.
