An Afghan citizen suffering from severe mental disorders was executed in Rafsanjan Central Prison, Kerman province, after being sentenced to death on charges of Muharabeh (waging war against God) through homicide.

According to a report from the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution occurred at dawn on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

State media, including IRNA, reported the execution without revealing the prisoner's name. They stated that the individual had been convicted of killing six Afghan citizens and four residents of Rafsanjan two years ago.

Following his arrest on charges of committing ten homicides with a cold weapon and "Muharabeh" with intent to kill, the accused was ultimately sentenced to death. Despite his severe mental health issues, the execution was carried out.
