Kurdish Woman Arrested by Iranian Security Forces in Mahabad

Galawej Mohammadi-Arshad, a Kurdish woman from Mahabad, was arrested by the Iranian intelligence forces in this city while returning from her workplace and has been transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Wednesday, August 14, 2024, Galawej Mohammadi-Arshad, 45 years old and a resident of Mahabad, was arrested by the Iranian intelligence forces during her return from work and was taken to an unknown location.

According to a close relative of Galawej Mohammadi-Arshad, she, who works as a tailor, was arrested while returning from her workplace on Bagh Shayegan Street. She was surrounded by four vehicles belonging to the intelligence forces.

As of the time of this report, despite the family's efforts, no precise information is available regarding the reasons for her arrest, the charges brought against her, or her whereabouts.
