Ali (Diyar) Alishahi, a Kurdish individual from Razavi Khorasan, has been detained for 587 days and is serving his five-year sentence in Evin Prison, Tehran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ali Alishahi, a Kurdish man from Khorasan, is currently serving his sentence in Evin Prison. He was previously sentenced to imprisonment by the Iranian judiciary on charges such as "reviving the Kurdish language and promoting the mother tongue" and has been imprisoned since February 2023 to serve his sentence.

Diyar Alishahi was arrested on Friday, January 25, 2019, by the IRGC intelligence forces in Tehran and was held in Ward A of their detention center for 36 days. He was later released on bail until the completion of his trial process.

It is worth noting that on June 17, 2019, he was sentenced by Branch 28 of Tehran’s Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Moqisseh, to five years of imprisonment for "activities aimed at reviving the Kurdish language and promoting the mother tongue" and "supporting the 2017 Kurdistan Region referendum." This sentence was upheld without any changes on July 10, 2019, by Branch 36 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court after an appeal.

This man was re-arrested on February 1, 2023, to serve his sentence and was transferred to Evin Prison, where he is currently serving his prison term.
