The Death Sentences of Three Prisoners, Including Two Baluch Prisoners, Carried Out in Shiraz Central Prison

The death sentences of three prisoners, including two Baluch individuals named Abduljalil Ehsani, Yahya Zargari, and Mehdi Jahanpour, who had previously been convicted of charges such as premeditated murder and drug-related charges, were carried out at Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad Prison).

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, September 16, 2024, the death sentences of three prisoners, Abduljalil Ehsani, 33, from Sarbaz; Yahya Zargari, 32, from Iranshahr, Sistan and Baluchistan; and Mehdi Jahanpour, 21, from Firuzabad, Fars Province, were carried out at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

According to Hal Vash, Abduljalil Ehsani was arrested three years ago in the city of Lar, and Yahya Zargari in Nehbandan. They were later sentenced to death by the Shiraz’s Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court on drug-related charges. Mehdi Jahanpour was arrested two years ago, at the age of 19, on charges of premeditated murder and was also sentenced to death.

These three prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinement the day before their execution. 

So far, the news of their executions has not yet been reported by Iranian state media, especially those affiliated with the judiciary.
