Three prisoners executed in Qom and Zahedan

Iranian authorities have executed at least three prisoners in recent days, including a Baloch prisoner, in Zahedan and Qom central prisons on charges of “robbery and rape” and “drug-related offenses.”

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sina Alipour, a 26-year-old Baloch man from Lashar, was executed in Zahedan Central Prison at dawn on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Informed sources told Hengaw that Alipour was arrested in Chabahar in 2023 while on leave from compulsory military service and later sentenced to death by the Chabahar Criminal Court on charges of “robbery and rape.” Around 40 days before his execution, he was transferred from Chabahar Prison to Zahedan Central Prison for implementation of the sentence.

Separately, Abbas Mardani, 30, from Shahr-e Rey, and Mansour Rahiminejad, 38, from Varamin and the father of a young child, were executed in Qom Central Prison at dawn on Monday, August 31, 2026, on “drug-related offenses.”

Mardani had been detained two years earlier and Rahiminejad four years earlier. Both were sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Court on “drug-related offenses.”

Their executions have not been announced by Iran’s state media or institutions affiliated with the judiciary.
