A Report on the Execution of Two Prisoners in Isfahan Central Prison

Last week, the death sentences of two prisoners, Milad Alimohammadi and Emad Motavalian, who had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related charges, were carried out in Isfahan Central Prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the death sentences of Milad Alimohammadi, 34, and Emad Motavalian, 25, two Lor-Bakhtiari and Turkish prisoners from the towns of Rezaweh and Fereydan, which are part of Chadegan County, were executed in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd Prison).

According to Hengaw’s sources, Milad Alimohammadi and Emad Motavalian were arrested five years ago in a joint case for drug-related charges and were subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary. Three other defendants in this case, who were Afghan nationals, were executed in the same prison last year.

To date, the news of the execution of these prisoners has not been announced in Iranian state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
