Six prisoners executed in prisons across Iran

The death sentences of four prisoners were carried out in Qazvin Central Prison, while two other prisoners were executed in Rasht and Sari Central Prisons. These prisoners had been sentenced to death on charges including “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offenses.”

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, early on Sunday, October 13, 2024, a prisoner named Mozafar Karami, a 40-year-old man from Rasht, was executed in Sari Central Prison, Mazandaran Province. Karami had been arrested on drug-related charges three years ago and was sentenced to death.

Earlier, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the death sentences of Ramin Hatami (38 years old), Khalil-Allah Sifi (40 years old), Kamal Valdbeigi, and another unidentified prisoner were carried out in Qazvin Central Prison. Additionally, the execution of another prisoner, identified as Iman Bakhshayesh from Rasht, took place in Rasht Central Prison.

Ramin Hatami and Khalil-Allah Sifi had been imprisoned for three and four years, respectively, on charges of “premeditated murder,” while Kamal Valdbeigi had been in custody for two years on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death.

Iman Bakhshayesh had also been arrested on drug-related charges and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time this report was written, news of these executions has not been announced in official state media, particularly those linked to the judiciary.
