Seven Balochs arrested in Taftan county

In the latest wave of arrests targeting Balochs in Taftan County, seven individuals—identified as Ebrahim Dahmardeh, Khaled Dahmardeh, Yaqoub Dahmardeh, Rahimeh Dahmardeh, Younes Dahmardeh, Gol-Mohammad Qolijani, and Aref Qolijani—have been arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, November 1, 2024, forces from IRGC's intelligence department raided the village of Kūh Gowhar in Taftan County. During the raid, four members of one family were arrested: Gol-Mohammad Qolijani, 41, his wife Rahimeh Dahmardeh, 31, their son Aref Qolijani, 18, and Rahimeh’s brother, Younes Dahmardeh, 29.
Simultaneously, three members of another family in the same village were also arrested: Yaqoub Dahmardeh and his two sons, Khaled Dahmardeh, 20, and Ebrahim Dahmardeh, 22.
Hengaw reports that the arrests were carried out with significant force, as these forces created an atmosphere of intimidation and conducted thorough searches of the detainees’ homes.
As of this report, no specific information has been provided regarding the grounds for detention or the current location of these seven people. However, certain Telegram channels affiliated with the IRGC have claimed that these individuals were arrested for allegedly recording the location where ten military personnel were killed in Kūh Gowhar.
Previously, Hengaw reported that on Saturday, October 26, 2024, two vehicles carrying military forces were attacked at the entrance to the Kūh Gowhar area in Taftan County. This incident resulted in the deaths of at least six officers and four soldiers, with several others injured.
