Death sentence of two prisoners carried out in Urmia Central Prison

The death sentences of two prisoners from Urmia, identified as Ali Momeni and Ramin Kazem-Alilu, who were previously convicted of premeditated murder, were carried out in Urmia Central Prison, commonly known as “Darya Prison.”
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, November 4, 2024, Ali Momeni, 24, and Ramin Kazem-Alilu, 32, both Turkish, were executed in Urmia Central Prison.
A source familiar with the case reported that Ali Momeni was arrested two years ago, and Ramin Kazem-Alilu was arrested five years ago, both on charges of premeditated murder. They were subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
On Saturday, both prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in Urmia Central Prison in preparation for their execution.
As of the time of this report, news of these executions has not been announced by state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets.
