Three prisoners, including an Afghan national, executed in Isfahan Central Prison

The death sentences of three prisoners, including an Afghan national were carried out in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd). They had been convicted on charges of “premeditated murder” and drug-related offenses.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The prisoners included Mohammadjavad Karami, 36, from Isfahan; Shahrokh Saeedkhani, 27, from Amol; and Mavain Mirjahani, 40, an Afghan national.
Sources state that Karami was arrested five years ago on murder charges, Saeedkhani was arrested three years ago for drug-related offenses, and Mirjahani was arrested on charges related to drug offenses and possession of a weapon. All three men were subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
As of this report, state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not disclosed information regarding these executions.
