Iran executes Ezzat Asgari, prisoner convicted of murder, at Behshahr Prison

Iranian authorities have executed Ezzat Asgari Khalilshahr, a prisoner who had previously been sentenced to death on a murder charge, at Behshahr Prison in Mazandaran province.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Asgari Khalilshahr, from Galugah County in Mazandaran province, was executed at Behshahr Central Prison at dawn on September 8, 2026.
Sources familiar with the case said he had previously been arrested by Iranian law enforcement forces on a murder charge and was subsequently sentenced to death under Iran’s qisas (retributive justice) laws.
Iranian state media and judicial authorities have not publicly announced the execution.
