An Afghan national hanged in Bandar Abbas Central Prison

 The death sentence of Khodarahim Popalzei,a Baloch man from Afghanistan was secretly carried out in Bandar Abbas Central Prison. He had been previously convicted of drug-related charges by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

 According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of Khodarahim Popalzei, from Qala-e-Kah in Farah Province, Afghanistan, was carried out at dawn on Monday, November 18, 2024. 

 Reports from the Haalvsh News Outlet state that Khodarahim Popalzei had been arrested in Bandar Abbas two years ago on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the city’s Revolutionary Court. 

 It is noteworthy that Popalzei was transferred to solitary confinement two days before his execution. The sentence was carried out without prior notification to his family and without granting him the opportunity for a final meeting with his loved ones. 

 The news of the execution, involving Popalzei, a father of seven, has not yet been reported by state-affiliated media or sources close to the judiciary at the time of this publication.
