Security forces arrest at least 7 Arabs in Ahvaz

Seven Sunni Arab activists, including two brothers, Mohammad Heydari and Abdulmalek Heydari, have been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The other five detainees have been identified as Mohammad Silavi, Ali Khazraji, Khalil Khazraji, Mohammad Marvani, and Reza Shamousi.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the Heydari brothers were arrested on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province. Earlier, on Monday, January 6, 2025, the other five activists—Mohammad Silavi, Ali Khazraji, Khalil Khazraji, Mohammad Marvani, and Reza Shamousi —were detained in the same city.
All seven activists were arrested at their homes during raids conducted by intelligence forces. The detainees were subsequently transferred to undisclosed locations.
