Three Sunni Arab men arrested and beaten by Intelligence Ministry forces in Ahvaz

Three Sunni Arab men have been arrested by Intelligence Ministry forces in the Kuy-e Mashali neighborhood of Ahvaz and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Razi Heydari, 50, Hossein Heydari, 29, and Abdolali Asakereh, 30, all Sunni Arabs from Ahvaz, were arrested on September 4, 2026.

Sources familiar with the case said the three men had gathered at a friend’s home when Intelligence Ministry forces surrounded the residence. The forces then entered the home, severely beat the men and arrested them without presenting a warrant.

No information is available regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges against them or their exact place of detention.
