Sunni convert Milad Heydari arrested by Intelligence Department forces

Iranian Intelligence Department forces arrested Milad Heydari, a 27-year-old married Arab man and Sunni convert, during a raid on his home in Ahvaz and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Heydari was arrested at his home in Ahvaz’s Kuy-e Mashali neighborhood on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Heydari is an Arab resident of Ahvaz who converted to Sunni Islam.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his whereabouts, while his family’s efforts to obtain information have so far been unsuccessful.
