The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner, Saiwan Yaqoubi, from Sarvabad (Sawlawe), who was previously convicted of "premeditated murder," was carried out at Sanandaj (Sine) Central Prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, 2025, Saiwan Yaqoubi, a 36-year-old resident of the village of "Bisarān" in Sarvabad County, was executed at Sanandaj Central Prison.

Hengaw sources reported that Saiwan Yaqoubi was arrested three years ago on charges of "premeditated murder" and subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by state-run media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
