In recent days, eight Kurdish people, including a child and a woman, have been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the cities of Mahabad, Naghadeh, Kamyaran, Marivan, Sanandaj, and Sardasht. According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, two people from Mahabad, Naser Ahmadzadeh (33) and Zagros Rasouli, an environmental activist, were arrested during raids on their home and workplace, respectively, by agents of the Intelligence Department and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Additionally, on Saturday, January 25, Afshin Mostafapour, 45, from Naghadeh, was detained after being summoned to the Intelligence Department and transferred to Naghadeh Central Prison. On the same day, Farzad Hamidi, 36, from Kamyaran, was violently arrested during a raid by approximately 20 intelligence agents on his family home and was subsequently taken to an undisclosed location.

On Thursday, January 23, Shirzad Qaleh, a resident of Nestan village in Sardasht, was arrested at his home by intelligence agents.

On Wednesday, January 22, Parsa Rahimi, a shoe shop worker in Sanandaj, and Parsa Rostami, a 17-year-old from the same city, were violently arrested in connection with the recent strike in Kurdistan.

On January 20, Parvin Advaei, a women’s rights activist and former political prisoner from Selin village near Sarvabad and residing in Marivan, was arrested after responding to a summons by the Intelligence Department and transferred to an undisclosed location.
