Five prisoners executed in Shiraz Central Prison

Two brothers from Marvdasht identified as Amir Fanaei and Hamid Fanaei, along with three others named Rasoul Minaei, Khosrow Abbaszadeh, and Mohammad Ali Heidari, were executed in Shiraz Central Prison. These prisoners had previously been convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, January 30, 2025, the death sentences of Amir Fanaei (36) and Hamid Fanaei (42), both from Marvdasht; Mohammad Ali Heidari (31) from Shiraz; Rasoul Minaei (33); and Khosrow Abbaszadeh (approximately 35), both from Babol, Mazandaran, were carried out in Shiraz Central Prison.
Amir and Hamid Fanaei had been arrested five years ago in a joint case and later sentenced to death, while Mohammad Ali Heidari had been imprisoned for four years on charges of murder before receiving a death sentence from the judiciary.
Additionally, Rasoul Minaei and Khosrow Abbaszadeh, who were relatives, were arrested four years ago in a joint case and sentenced to death for premeditated murder.
As of the time of this report, the executions of these prisoners have not been officially announced in state-run media, particularly those affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
