State forces kill child and unborn baby, critically injure mother in shooting in Iranshahr

As a result of gunfire by the special forces unit of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iranshahr, Sistan and Baluchestan province, a five-year-old Baloch child named Yousef Shahli-Bor was killed. Additionally, the child's young mother lost her pregnancy after being struck by a bullet, and her current condition is concerning.  

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, February 24, 2025, Yousef Shahli-Bor, a five-year-old child from Iranshahr, was killed by gunfire from the military forces of the special unit.  

Yousef Shahli-Bor was struck by five bullets, and due to the absence of a surgeon, he remained untreated in the hospital for several hours. He succumbed to his injuries after undergoing surgery.

Additionally, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Maryam Shahli-Bor, Yousef’s 32-year-old mother, lost her pregnancy a day after being struck by a live bullet fired by government forces.  

Due to the severity of her injuries and her critical health condition, she is currently under intensive care at Iranshahr Hospital.  

Furthermore, the driver of the vehicle carrying the family, who was a victim of indiscriminate gunfire, was also arrested by plainclothes forces after being beaten. He has been identified as Ramin Shahli-Bor, a 22-year-old resident of Iranshahr.  

As of the time of this report, all official institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran have refrained from making any statements or accepting responsibility for this incident.
