Prisoner committed suicide in Isfahan Central

Rasul Ebn-Ali, a prisoner sentenced to death for premeditated murder, has committed suicide in Isfahan Central Prison. At the time of the crime, he was under 18 years old.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Rasul Ebn-Ali, a 24-year-old prisoner from Isfahan, ended his life in the prison's bathroom. Prison authorities informed his family of the incident later in the afternoon.
Rasul Ebn-Ali was arrested seven years ago, convicted of murder, and sentenced to death by Iran's judicial system. However, at the time of the crim- he was legally a minor.
Sources report that the victim's family had agreed to accept 12 billion tomans (approximately $240,000) in compensation to grant clemency. A partial payment of 1 billion tomans had already been made, and negotiations for the remaining amount were ongoing.
As of this report, Rasul Ebn-Ali's body has not been released to his family and remains at the forensic medical center.
