Prisoner executed in Aligudarz Central Prison

The death sentence of a Turkish prisoner from Jolfa, East Azerbaijan Province, identified as Younes Kheyrallahpour was carried out in Aligudarz Central Prison, Lorestan Province. He had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, February 13, 2025, 31-year-old Younes Kheyrallahpour, a father of one from Jolfa, was executed in Aligudarz Central Prison.
Sources familiar with the case stated that this prisoner had been arrested three years ago on charges of possessing "methamphetamine and six unlicensed Kalashnikov rifles" and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
As of the time of this report, news of this execution has not been announced in state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
Based on statistics recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least 121 Turkish prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons in 2024, marking an increase of over 120% compared to 2023.
