Hengaw: Saturday, February 15, 2025
The number of protesters arrested during the demonstrations in Dehdasht continues to rise, and so far, the identities of nine detainees, including two minors, have been confirmed. The names of these protesters are Atefeh Tahernia, Amirhossein Jafari, Kamran Bouzari, Jaber Foroughi, Pouria Barati, Hossein Parisaei, Alireza Parisaei, Hamid Parisaei, and Ahmad Nourmohammadi.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the identities of three additional protesters arrested during last week’s protests in Dehdasht, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province—Alireza Parisaei, Ahmad Nourmohammadi, and Hamid Parisaei—have been verified. Some of the detained protesters have been transferred to the IRGC Intelligence detention facilities in Dehdasht, while others have been moved to Yasuj, the provincial capital.
Among them, Atefeh Tahernia, Amirhossein Jafari (17 years old), Kamran Bouzari (16 years old), Jaber Foroughi, and Pouria Barati were arrested on the night of Tuesday, February 11, while Hossein Parisaei was detained on Thursday, February 13. Three others were arrested during this period as well.
The protests in Dehdasht began on February 9 and lasted until the night of Thursday, February 13, during which several protesters were arrested, though the identities of some remain unverified.
Notably, Atefeh Tahernia was previously arrested by security forces during the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom) uprising and sustained injuries from baton strikes.
During these protests, protesters chanted slogans such as "This year is the year of blood, Seyed Ali will be overthrown," "Death to the Islamic Republic," and "Death to the dictator."
Footage released on the night of Friday, February 14, showed that Iranian security forces had been deployed throughout Dehdasht in an apparent attempt to intimidate and suppress protesters.
