Two prisoners executed in Ghezel Hesar and Isfahan Central Prisons

The death sentences of, Mahmoud Barahouei, a Baloch prisoner from Zahedan, and Rasoul Ashour, from Esfahan, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison and Isfahan Central Prison, respectively.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, February 20, 2025, the execution of Mahmoud Barahouei, 35, from Zahedan, took place in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Additionally, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 l, Rasoul Ashour, from Afjeh, Esfahan, was executed in the city's Central Prison. He had been arrested six years ago on charges of premeditated murder.

The Haalvsh news network also reported that Mahmoud Barahouei and another prisoner, Hossein Sasani from Tehran, had been arrested three years ago in a joint case on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, state-affiliated media, particularly those linked to the judiciary, have not announced these executions.
