Two Prisoners executed in Qazvin Central Prison on drug-related charges

The death sentences of two Turkish prisoners, Heydar Safdari and Sohrab Niazi, were carried out in Qazvin Central Prison. Both had been sentenced to death in separate cases on charges related to drug offenses.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, March 15, 2025, Heydar Safdari, 28, from Zanjan, and Sohrab Niazi, 30, from Qazvin, were executed at Chubindar Prison in Qazvin.

Sources familiar with the cases stated that Safdari had been imprisoned for two years and Niazi for three years, both convicted on drug-related charges by Iran’s judiciary.

As of the time of this report, state media—including those affiliated with the judiciary—have not announced the executions.
