Serious concerns over the condition of four injured Takab Municipality workers after Protest

Four protesting municipality workers in Takab, who were directly shot by government forces during a demonstration, remain in an unknown condition after being transferred to a clinic under the supervision of the IRGC. The attack by these forces took place following a call from a city council member to the police.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Monday, March 3, 2025, four municipal service workers in Takab were severely wounded by direct gunfire from security forces while protesting their unpaid wages.
A well-informed source stated that the protesting workers had staged their demonstration inside the municipality building, in front of the Takab City Council.
The identities of these workers have not yet been verified, and there are serious concerns regarding their health and well-being.
Following Hengaw’s inquiries, a reliable source confirmed that the four workers are being held in one of the IRGC’s medical facilities, adding that at present, no information about their condition can be disclosed.
Reports indicate that in the aftermath of these events, the Takab City Council has dismissed the mayor and appointed Mohammad Baqer Rostami as the acting mayor of Takab.
