Explosive remnants of war claim life of Kurdish worker in Ilam

Ahmad Ali-Mohammadi, a Kurdish worker from Ilam, lost his life following an explosion caused by remnants of war left over from the eight-year Iran-Iraq war.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the incident occurred on Thursday, November 14, 2024, when munitions, brought to a scrap facility in Ilam as scrap material, detonated, resulting in the death of Ali-Mohammadi, who worked at the site.

Sources indicate that Ali-Mohammadi, who was also a taekwondo athlete, was fatally injured in the blast.
