Yousef Mamehpour, Kurdish kolbar and father of one, killed by border forces

Iranian Border Regiment forces shot and killed Yousef Mamehpour, a 30-year-old Kurdish kolbar from Sardasht and father of one.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mamehpour, a married resident of Varda village in Sardasht County with a young child, was killed on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the Barda Spian border area.

Informed sources said Border Regiment forces opened fire on a group of kolbars without prior warning, striking Mamehpour in the abdomen and kidney area. He died at the scene from severe bleeding.
