Houshang Mohammadkhani and Ahmad Saeedi executed in Yazd and Zanjan Prisons

The death sentences of Houshang Mohammadkhani and Ahmad Saeedi were carried out in Yazd and Zanjan Central Prisons, respectively. Both had been convicted on drug-related charges, with Houshang Mohammadkhani’s execution taking place in secret, without allowing him a final visit with his family.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, March 9, 2025, 30-year-old Ahmad Saeedi, a resident of Zanjan, was executed in Zanjan Central Prison.

The previous day, at dawn on Saturday, March 8, 2025, 31-year-old Houshang Mohammadkhani, a resident of Yazd, was executed in Yazd Central Prison. Both prisoners had been arrested in separate cases two years ago and later sentenced to death by the judiciary on drug-related charges.

Notably, Houshang Mohammadkhani was denied his final meeting with his family.

As of the time of this report, state-affiliated media, particularly those linked to the judiciary, have not announced these executions.
