Prisoner executed in Malayer Central Prison – At Least 10 executed recorded since the beginning of Ramadan

The death sentence of Hojjat Torkaman, a Turkish prisoner from Malayer, Hamadan province, was carried out in Malayer Central Prison. With this execution, at least 10 prisoners have been executed in Iran since the beginning of Ramadan.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Hojjat Torkaman’s execution was carried out in Malayer Central Prison. This prisoner had been arrested four years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and was sentenced to death by the judiciary.

To date, news of this execution has not been announced by state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.

Based on data recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw, since the beginning of Ramadan this year, at least 10 prisoners have been executed in the prisons of Malayer, Tabriz, Kashan, Yazd, Khorramabad (2 cases), Hamadan, Qazvin, Ahar, and Zanjan. Among them, seven prisoners were executed on charges of premeditated murder, while three others were sentenced to death for drug-related charges.
