Haidar Mohammadi (Hassanvand), a 37-year-old man from Khorramabad, died under severe torture just six hours after his arrest by Nahavand Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Hamadan Province. His death occurred shortly after he was transferred to the detention center of the Nahavand Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Haidar Mohammadi, an unmarried resident of Khorramabad, was forcibly detained at his family home and later tortured to death in custody.

A family member told Hengaw that at 9 AM, Nahavand Police Criminal Investigation Department, in collaboration with security forces from Khorramabad, stormed Mohammadi’s home. In front of his elderly mother and sister, the officers brutally assaulted and arrested him.

The source further revealed that upon his arrival at the detention center, Haidar Mohammadi was subjected to severe beatings by officers. By 3 PM, authorities contacted his family, informing them that he had died in custody and ordering them to retrieve his body.

On Thursday, Mohammadi’s body was returned to his family, displaying clear signs of extensive torture and bruising. However, authorities prohibited the family from taking photos or videos of his remains.

Another relative of the Mohammadi family disclosed that his arrest was linked to a prior physical altercation with Nahavand Police Criminal Investigation Department officers on the Hamadan highway days before his detention.
