Esmail Mozaffari and Yaghoub Mirzajani executed in Gorgan Central Prison

The death sentences of two prisoners, Esmail Mozaffari and Yaghoub Mirzajani, who had previously been convicted of premeditated murder in separate cases, were carried out in Gorgan Central Prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, March 1, 2025, Esmail Mozaffari (27), a resident of Tehran, and Yaghoub Mirzajani (40), a father of two from Shahrek-e Rah Ahan, Tehran, were executed in Gorgan Central Prison.

Yaghoub Mirzajani had been in detention for four years and Esmail Mozaffari for three years before being sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on murder charges.

To date, the news of the execution of these prisoners has not been published by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
