Two prisoners executed in Zanjan and Tabriz Prisons

The death sentences of two Turkish prisoners, Hossein Malazadeh and Mohsen Hedayat, were carried out in the central prisons of Zanjan and Tabriz, respectively. Both had previously been convicted by Iran’s judiciary on charges related to drug offenses and premeditated murder.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hossein Malazadeh, 29, from Zanjan, was executed at dawn on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in Zanjan Central Prison.

Sources familiar with the case stated that Malazadeh had been arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death.

Similarly, at dawn on Saturday, March 29, 2025, Mohsen Hedayat, a 39-year-old from Tabriz, was executed in Tabriz Central Prison. He had been arrested five years ago on a murder charge and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, no official announcements regarding the executions have been made by state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
